Peace and Love
"I'm not going to change the way I look or the way I feel to conform to anything. I've always been a freak. So I've been a freak all my life and I have to live with that, you know. I'm one of those people" - John Lennon
Freaks you say?
Freaks: The term might not be used too much anymore, but yes, Hippies and Hippys and for that matter, Yippies too, are still considered freaks, but perhaps it applies more so to just hippys today.
OH! Come on all you wonderful freaky deaky hippies!
Free People is as free and hippy as you get! And is now a UK available brand. From the romantic boho clothing, to these peace and flower rope* toys made for the grooviest of pups! £12 By Jax and Bones

Inspiration
"I think loosening up and having fun is the rule, not the exception. Forget about trying to stay cool or impressing others and let your hair down. Because those who love and respect you won't care as those who do? Well, they never really mattered that much. Your friends and readers appreciate your realness, your quirkiness, not your ability to remain stoic or ultra posed."
A post that will stay with me for a while a remind me not to be too hard on myself.
It's challenging at the start of something to know if what you are doing is for you or because it's what others would like. Taking some time is sometimes the answer! I love fashion, but sometimes knowing how to put it across is a challenge. All I can say is do as you would like to see yourself . Write for yourself. As well as it being for others it's for your own enjoyment and should never be a chore. I hope to write about more thrift shopping, everyday inspirations, art, home diy (which i'm loving) and importantly eating well and where my skincare has taken me as I have battled acne! And keep my dry sense of humour in there too. Hmm possibly more nutty than dry. Lots to look forward too.

I DO love weddings
In my experience my first wedding invite was like this, I worried so much about the outfit that I forgot that is all about the fun and not getting it perfect! Leave that part to the beautiful blushing bride! And as I have been to many weddings over the years now I notice peoples ideas are evolving. It's not just girls in dresses fascinator and heels, It's their idea of what celebration wear means. It's loud floral suits, yes suits! Pretty pleated midi skirts with flowers in their hair and sparkly flats. Yay flats! Wearing cream or dare I say It, white! Because all wedding rules have been rearranged and going back into the dark ages. It's not just the flower girls that wear the flowers In their hair anymore! And I think It's wonderful. Over the years I have went from wearing stiff outfits to what I feel comfortable and pretty In, and with the idea that this is a day that you can wear something to celebrate the joy! I also love the idea of dressing to mirror a certain era or just a classic look.
A 60's era inspired look that came to me a week before the wedding I was attending a few years ago. 60's Is one of my favourite looks as I adore the flicked eyes and beehive. And I cannot deny myself a headband. This pick lace dress was a bargain from Warehouse, all the white extras were from Ebay. Including white quilted chain bag and pearl earrings. The make up was to go with the 60's feel. So much fun!
Bright florals for a beautiful sunny day at a wedding last year. A bit of fun put together last minute as I didn't like the dress I was originally going to wear. It didn't feel like me when I was actually about to leave In It. So I changed to this Mink Pink dress, an Australian brand which uses fun tribal and floral prints. Large costume diamond earrings from H&M and cream floral alice crown made by my talented friend Leanne who sells them and many more by the name of Galaxycaramel69 on Asos market place and Facebook! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Galaxycaramel69/228085093902480
A fun outfit with a flower girl feel for a beautiful day.
Weddings at a certain age or point in time they may seem many, the dresses they may seem hard to find. What shouldn't be hard is to remember that these days are for the people in love and the people they decide to share it with. Have fun, dance the night away and be with friends.
Last year I even had the great honer of being my best friends bridesmaid. A fairytale memory that will stay with me always and so will the beautiful red gown I wore. My advice, have fun and don't think too much. Great outfits hold great memories but they don't have to be perfect to reflect them. Have a jolly day! Here comes the bride!

Back to basics
I will always wonder if dresses will go back to basics. When I see a dress I love I get cold chills, I see the way I will wear my hair and my makeup with that dress. Where I will wear it and the places that It will go. Sort of like the sister hood of the travelling pants..but with a dress. Yes that magic dress. There you are It's just in reach. You pick it up, the material silky and playful. The front Is beautiful and you hold It up against yourself and maybe do a graceful twirl. Then you turn It around (maybe before that you check the price tag If there Is not too much visual excitement) and whats that? Here we go again. A massive huge ugly hole on the back. Nooo your dreams are shattered..that dress! That print! That shape. It would have been perfect. But now you have to go buy a stick on bra thats going to fall down the front of your dress half way through mid dance. Ughh. Or maybe think well I could just not wear a bra at all but then you have to wear these little nipple stickers and there is not a whole lot else going on. ohh and that spot on my back well thats a whole other kettle of fish. Never mind the fake tan streaks from where your hands can't quite reach. I am not against a nice slit or backless dress don't get me wrong! I have many a halter neck! However I just feel that any tom dick or harry dress is getting the backless treatment these days. And I just think It's plain lazy. When I buy that dress of my dreams with that oh so hefty price tag I would like It to be a whole dress. Just back to basics, pardon the pun.

That's bogus
OH you can go Way wrong. Your coatigan arrives In the post probably around 7 working days later which Is really cool (since when does next day delivery mean anything anyway). And you feel the parcel, hmm It must be that small strappy top I bought from Ebay or that pack of paper clips from Amazon but just In a really big oversized bag. Nope, It's your coat which Is literally two bits of thin paper sewn together with a lovely shiny lining and pretend pockets that when you fasten up looks like It could be a dress. Also comes with bonus free stickers and a spring catalogue. Oh and your coatigan Is featured In the spring catalogue with the wording 'stay warm In spring!'. Oh a coatigan! Meaning like a cardigan but looks like a coat. How useful apart from the fact that I have much warmer and cheaper cardigans already. Maybe It's just me, but there Is something fishy going on here. The more you look around Internet shopping the more totally bogus words you see. Beware. Gloves and mittens become 'Glittens'. A cropped jumper Is now a 'crump'. 'Trouges' a cross between trainers and brogues. 'Jorts' are shorts with the some of the qualities of jeans (Soo denim shorts then). These are all very real fashion lingo words that I have come across while online shopping In the past week. I have seen everything. Genius way of cutting down on your fashion chat (who has the time to say denim shorts anyway?). No It's a scam so you end up with a paper coat and goosebumps. But I mean I have to give to 'jeggings' - they did make the Oxford dictionary.
