I DO love weddings

Hello! We are bang In the middle of Wedding Season! A wonderful fun time for all full of love, dancing and of course pretty wedding attire. Before a few years ago I had never had the pleasure of being invited to a wedding and had always felt somewhat left out. Everyone else was going to these grand love filled days and dancing the night away, when would it be my turn? (to be a guest!) Then suddenly out of the something old something blue it seemed all my dear friends were walking down the aisle! I was so excited to buy my first wedding guest outfit! Going shopping with my friends for theirs too and sharing all of our excitement! The day that allows you to wear beautiful wide brimmed hats and flowing chiffon gowns while drinking bubbly. Where to start? Well what starts as a bit of fashion fun turns serious, you can't find that perfect hat or that perfect shade of pink. The save the date is getting closer and closer however your shoes are out of sight..

In my experience my first wedding invite was like this, I worried so much about the outfit that I forgot that is all about the fun and not getting it perfect! Leave that part to the beautiful blushing bride! And as I have been to many weddings over the years now I notice peoples ideas are evolving. It's not just girls in dresses fascinator and heels, It's their idea of what celebration wear means. It's loud floral suits, yes suits! Pretty pleated midi skirts with flowers in their hair and sparkly flats. Yay flats! Wearing cream or dare I say It, white! Because all wedding rules have been rearranged and going back into the dark ages. It's not just the flower girls that wear the flowers In their hair anymore! And I think It's wonderful. Over the years I have went from wearing stiff outfits to what I feel comfortable and pretty In, and with the idea that this is a day that you can wear something to celebrate the joy! I also love the idea of dressing to mirror a certain era or just a classic look.

A 60's era inspired look that came to me a week before the wedding I was attending a few years ago. 60's Is one of my favourite looks as I adore the flicked eyes and beehive. And I cannot deny myself a headband. This pick lace dress was a bargain from Warehouse, all the white extras were from Ebay. Including white quilted chain bag and pearl earrings. The make up was to go with the 60's feel. So much fun!

Bright florals for a beautiful sunny day at a wedding last year. A bit of fun put together last minute as I didn't like the dress I was originally going to wear. It didn't feel like me when I was actually about to leave In It. So I changed to this Mink Pink dress, an Australian brand which uses fun tribal and floral prints. Large costume diamond earrings from H&M and cream floral alice crown made by my talented friend Leanne who sells them and many more by the name of Galaxycaramel69 on Asos market place and Facebook! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Galaxycaramel69/228085093902480
A fun outfit with a flower girl feel for a beautiful day.

This year this outfit was one of the cheapest I have worn to a wedding but must say felt the most beautiful In. A bargain sale silk dusky pink dress bought from Monsoon with gold accessories. Sequin embellished clutch hiding for years in my drawer from accessorize, embellished earrings from boots, gold and black strappy heels from Ebay and a black ribbon bought from a haberdashery store and just tied round the waist! I enjoy adding my own touch. Classic romantic look with simple makeup and pink lip for a romantic day..

Weddings at a certain age or point in time they may seem many, the dresses they may seem hard to find. What shouldn't be hard is to remember that these days are for the people in love and the people they decide to share it with. Have fun, dance the night away and be with friends.

Last year I even had the great honer of being my best friends bridesmaid. A fairytale memory that will stay with me always and so will the beautiful red gown I wore. My advice, have fun and don't think too much. Great outfits hold great memories but they don't have to be perfect to reflect them. Have a jolly day! Here comes the bride!
